Cemetery Open Day - Autumn 2019

30/9/2019

We are pleased to report that Ely Cemetery took place in this year's Heritage Open Day. Tours were conducted by the Mayor of Ely, Councillor Mike Rouse and Councillor Chris Phillips, a member of the Friends of Ely Cemetery.

The event went well with a larger group attending in the afternoon session. One of the highlights was finding the grave of someone's great-great-aunt who had been a housemaid in one of the cathedral clergy homes. She died back in 1911 and was originally from Carmarthenshire. The visitor was a very happy customer!
